Help ignite the passion of science for the next generation

Dear Vasiliy,

My name is Dave Fish, and I'm one of the teachers who works on Perimeter's educational outreach team.

We spend a lot of time on the road, teaching the kind of physics that doesn't usually reach high school classrooms. Whether it's Penhold, Alberta, or Balgonie, Saskatchewan, or Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, everywhere we go, we help kids explore exoplanets or get sucked in by black holes.

Even better, everywhere we go, we watch a few kids learn something else brand new: that they too, can be scientists.

In Cranberry Portage, Manitoba, we worked with a group of First Nations Kids for whom the nearest big city was Flin Flon. The new scientist there was a Grade 9 girl who was just lit up all day long – thrilled to learn that there was a place for her in science.

At the Blackhurst Cultural Centre in Toronto, the new scientists were super bright high-school seniors freshly inspired to study STEM at university.

Kids like these are the future of science – and of all of us.
